Notes
Iris (Iris zagrica) is a bulb for rock gardens, borders, and naturalizing under perennial ground covers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Blue spring flowers have icy standards and veined purple falls with an orange crest. The stalks are long, so it looks like a reticulata on stilts. It goes dormant by summer, so plant it where perennials can fill the gap.
Pairs well with Queen of Night tulip, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, and Peony.
