Notes

'Iron Pink' stock (Matthiola incana 'Iron Pink') is an annual for borders, containers, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It shrugs off cool spells and light frost, though a hard freeze will damage it. This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. The fragrant pink and rose blooms open in spring and again in summer, and bees, butterflies, and birds visit them. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It also tolerates salt.

Pairs well with Sweet William, California poppy, and Japanese forest grass.
