Notes

Japanese privet (Ligustrum japonicum) is a shrub for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows fast and stays evergreen, so it makes a quick screen. Creamy white flowers are fragrant and attract butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Oleander, Purple top, and Common milkweed.

Japan and Korea.
