Notes
Privet (Ligustrum lucidum) is a shrub for hedges and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet soil. Creamy white flowers open in summer, and birds visit the plant. Deer tend to browse other plants first. This evergreen grows at a rapid rate and tolerates drought, so it fills a hedge quickly.
Pairs well with Oleander, Rose of sharon, Fountain grass, and Redwood.
Native range
Asia.
