Kakapo pineapple guava

Garden uses

Notes

'Kakapo' pineapple guava (Feijoa sellowiana 'Kakapo') is a fruit for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun. The evergreen shrub grows more open and smaller than other cultivars, so it suits containers and small gardens. White summer flowers give way to sweet fruit with thin skin. It sets some fruit alone but gives more when another variety grows nearby.

Pairs well with Pink Lady apple, Pistachio, and Cleopatra canna.
