'Karate' tulip (Tulipa 'Karate') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. The flowers change color as they age, from primrose yellow to creamy white to pink and finally cherry red with white speckling. Juris Egle bred it. Let the foliage die back naturally after flowering.
Pairs well with Halcyon hosta, Angel Cheeks peony, and Nodding onion.
