Notes

'Lennei' saucer magnolia (Magnolia soulangeana 'Lennei') is a tree for borders, containers, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows 15 to 25 feet tall and wide, so give it room. The deep purple blooms are fragrant and open in early to late spring. Butterflies and birds visit the tree.

Pairs well with Grape hyacinth, Ostrich fern, and Bowl of Cream peony.
