Notes

'Leuchtstern' coneflower (Echinacea purpurea 'Leuchtstern') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Bright rose to lavender pink flowers open from early to late summer and attract butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer tend to pass it by. It grows 30 to 48 inches tall and handles drought and salt.

Pairs well with Butterfly milkweed, Prairie dropseed, and Indian grass.
