Notes

'Lion King' Dutch iris (Iris hollandica 'Lion King') is a bulb for cut flower arrangements, borders, and sunny beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. The burgundy purple standards sit above deep yellow falls with burgundy purple veins. Plant it in well-drained soil where it can bake in summer while dormant. You can overplant it with thyme, Sedum, or Delosperma.

Pairs well with Gladiolus, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Stargazer lily, and Spiderwort.
