Notes

'Lionheart' lily (Lilium 'Lionheart') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Dark purple-black petals fade with speckles to yellow-green tips, and the fragrant blooms open from early to late summer. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Sum and Substance hosta, Little Lime panicle hydrangea, and Blue fescue.
