Notes

'Little Annie' coneflower (Echinacea purpurea 'Little Annie') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, rock gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Lavender-pink petals surround a dark orange center cone from early to late summer, and butterflies, bees, and birds visit the flowers. It stays small at 6 to 12 inches tall and handles drought and salt. Deer rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Prairie dropseed, Butterfly milkweed, and Nodding onion.
