Notes

'Manhattan Island' dahlia (Dahlia 'Manhattan Island') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, containers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil. Its large dinner plate flowers have deep red petals with yellow bases and sometimes white tips. Dahlias dislike winter wet, so plant it where the ground stays dry in winter or lift the bulbs and store them indoors in a cool, dry place. P.J.M. van Schie bred it.

Pairs well with Vermillionaire cuphea, Lemongrass, Mondo grass, and Ironweed.
