Notes

'Matador' rose (Rosa 'Matador') is a compact shrub for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. It grows 16 to 20 inches tall and bears fragrant, medium red blooms from late spring to early autumn. Bees visit the flowers. Christian Evers bred it in 2011.

Pairs well with Delphinium, Japanese forest grass, and Nelly Moser clematis.
