Notes

'Maurino' olive (Olea europaea 'Maurino') is a tree for the food garden, grown for a delicate and aromatic Tuscan olive oil. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun. The weeping branches suit container growing and smaller spaces. The fruit ripens to purplish black early in the season, which helps in cooler summer climates. It is self-infertile, so plant Frantoio or Leccino nearby as a pollinator.

Pairs well with Italian cypress, Artichoke, Capers, and Fuyu persimmon.
