'Taggiasca' olive (Olea europaea 'Taggiasca') is a tree grown for olive oil, container growing, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun. The trees are medium sized with lush, weeping branches. Green fruit gives a fruity, floral oil with a sharp finish, and black fruit gives a light, sweetly perfumed oil. It is self fertile, so one tree can set fruit alone.
Pairs well with Almond, Statice, and Mondo grass.
