Notes

Michigan lily (Lilium michiganense) is a bulb for borders, meadows, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet soil of most types. Orange flowers with dark spots have petals that curve backward almost to the base. The stem often branches at the tip to form more flower stalks. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the summer blooms.

Pairs well with Spotted joe-pye weed, Royal fern, and Obedient plant.
