Notes

Mock orange (Philadelphus coronarius) is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. White flowers with a sweet scent open in spring and again in summer. It is not a favorite of rabbits, though hungry rabbits will eat almost anything. The arching branches reach about 10 to 12 feet tall and wide, so give it room.

Pairs well with Hardy geranium, Siebold's hosta, and Korean spice viburnum.
