Notes

'Aureus' mock orange (Philadelphus coronarius 'Aureus') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. The arching shape grows about 6 to 8 feet tall, and the flowers are fragrant. It is not a favorite of rabbits, though hungry rabbits will eat almost anything. Give it room to spread, since it can reach about 4 to 5 feet wide.

Pairs well with Halcyon hosta, Blue fescue, Niobe clematis, and Coral Sunset peony.
