Morioka Weeping katsura tree

Notes

'Morioka Weeping' katsura tree (Cercidiphyllum japonicum 'Morioka Weeping') is a tree for specimen planting, shade, and fall color. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun. Its small, heart-shaped leaves open flushed with burgundy, age to blue-green, and turn pink, red, orange, and yellow in autumn. The fall leaves can give off a burnt caramel aroma. The pendulous branches make a sculptural centerpiece all year.

Pairs well with Snowdrop, Tree peony, and Burnet.
