Notes

Burnet (Sanguisorba tenuifolia) is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It blooms in early to late summer and again in autumn, and it draws butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Place it at the back of a bed, since it grows about 59 to 71 inches tall.

Pairs well with Cloud Nine switchgrass, Waltraut sneezeweed, Caradonna sage, and Drumstick onion.
