Notes

'Nanus' aster (Galatella sedifolia 'Nanus') is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Blue petals surround a yellow center from early to late summer, and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies and birds visit the flowers, and the plant tolerates drought. It sits low on the menu for rabbits.

Pairs well with Edelweiss, Gladiator ornamental onion, and Apricotta cosmos.
