Notes

'NCIC2' Japanese holly (Ilex crenata 'NCIC2') is a shrub for borders, hedges, foundation plantings, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a dense, evergreen shrub that reaches 48 to 72 inches tall. White flowers open in early to late spring and attract bees. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Green Velvet buxus, Little bluestem, and Obedient plant.
