Notes

Noble fir (Abies procera) is an evergreen tree for low maintenance landscapes and accent planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The trunk is straight and massive, with red-brown, deeply-fissured bark and blue-green needles. Large purplish cones are mostly covered by papery bracts, so they look showy. Birds visit the tree.

Pairs well with Bridal wreath spiraea, Autumn fern, and Shasta daisy.
