Notes

Fraser fir (Abies fraseri) is a tree for specimen planting, woodland gardens, and low maintenance landscapes. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The evergreen needles are dark green and fragrant. It sits low on the menu for deer. Resin in the bark gives it the local name She-balsam.

Pairs well with Green Spice coral bells, Smooth hydrangea, and Bracken.
