Notes

'Oakleaf Magenta' primrose (Primula vulgaris 'Oakleaf Magenta') is a perennial for borders, containers, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun and average moisture. Lobed leaves look like oak leaves, and glowing magenta flowers with yellow eyes bloom from spring well into summer. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Deadheading can encourage more bloom, and bees visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Liverleaf, Chocolate lily, and Gladiator ornamental onion.
