Notes

Orchid (Galearis spectabilis) is a perennial for shade gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist soil. A short stalk rises between two large, glossy, green leaves. It carries up to 15 white and pink to deep lavender flowers. The two upper petals form a hood over each flower, and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Foam flower, Woodland phlox, and Western sword fern.
