Notes
Paintbrush lily (Scadoxus puniceus) is a bulb for pots, shade gardens, and indoor growing. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry soil. Red summer flowers have golden anthers and burgundy red bracts. Decorative red berries can stay on the plant for up to two months.
Pairs well with Purple Sensation ornamental onion, Yellow archangel, and Genova dahlia.
