Notes

'Palmares' dahlia (Dahlia 'Palmares') is a bulb for borders, containers, cut flowers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil. The round, yellow-orange flowers are 3.5 inches wide, and bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit the blooms. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Theo de Boer B.V. bred it in 2007.

Pairs well with Pineapple sage, Purple top, and Mondo grass.
