Notes

'Phoenix Green' sedge (Carex 'Phoenix Green') is a grass for borders, shade gardens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It stays evergreen and grows 12 to 18 inches tall and wide, and butterflies and birds visit it. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Its green flowers open in spring and again in summer.

Pairs well with Wild ginger, Virginia sweetspire, and Ostrich fern.
