Notes

'Silver Sceptre' sedge (Carex 'Silver Sceptre') is a grass for borders, shade gardens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It stays evergreen and forms a low clump 9 to 12 inches tall, and butterflies and birds visit the greenish-brown flowers.

Pairs well with Wild ginger, Virginia sweetspire, and Ostrich fern.
