Notes

Pinewoods milkweed (Asclepias humistrata) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and woodland areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. The leaves have purple veins, and the white flowers sometimes carry a touch of lavender. Deer tend to pass it by. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Blanket flower, Woolly yarrow, and Red spider lily.
