Notes

'Prairie Fire' beardtongue (Penstemon 'Prairie Fire') is a perennial for pollinator gardens and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average soil. Pinkish red flowers open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer, and bees and birds visit the blooms. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It grows 18 to 30 inches tall.

Pairs well with Arizona Sun blanket flower, Paprika yarrow, and Foxtail barley.
