Notes

'Prairie Giant' coneflower (Echinacea purpurea 'Prairie Giant') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Pink petals surround a dark center cone from early to late summer, and butterflies, bees, and birds visit the blooms. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It grows 24 to 36 inches tall and handles drought and salt.

Pairs well with Butterfly milkweed, Standing Ovation little bluestem, Nodding onion, and Indian grass.
