Notes

'Prairie Splendor' coneflower (Echinacea purpurea 'Prairie Splendor') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Rose-magenta petals surround an orange center cone from early to late summer, and butterflies, bees, and birds visit the blooms. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows 12 to 24 inches tall and tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Prairie dropseed, Butterfly milkweed, and Nodding onion.
