Notes

'Purple Flame' dahlia (Dahlia 'Purple Flame') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. Purple blooms open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers. A.J.M. Leijten bred it in 2006.

Pairs well with Snapdragon, Japanese forest grass, Niobe clematis, and Bigleaf hydrangea.
