Notes

'Niobe' clematis (Clematis 'Niobe') is a vine for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. The dark ruby red flowers are 4-6 inches wide and open from June to September. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Give the compact vines a trellis to climb.

Pairs well with Jeana garden phlox, Little bluestem, and Paperbark maple.
