Notes

'Purring Tiger' Siberian iris (Iris sibirica 'Purring Tiger') is a perennial for borders, shade gardens, and bold spring color. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The golden-yellow falls are heavily veined in purple and sit under ruffled purple standards. Rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Hummingbirds and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Empress Wu hosta, Royal fern, and Spanish bluebell.
