'Black Joker' Siberian iris (Iris sibirica 'Black Joker') is a perennial for borders and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It forms a clump that grows at a moderate pace and reaches 24 to 48 inches tall. Blooms open in spring and again in summer, and butterflies visit them.
