Notes

'Red Diamond' Chinese fringe flower (Loropetalum chinense 'Red Diamond') is a shrub for borders, hedges, specimens, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. The evergreen leaves and fragrant blooms add interest, and the arching form grows moderately to about 5 or 6 feet tall and wide. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Give it room to spread.

Pairs well with Nigrescens mondo grass, Gold Mound Japanese meadowsweet, and Southern magnolia.
