Notes

'Gold Mound' Japanese meadowsweet (Spiraea japonica 'Gold Mound') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Its dense, mounded form grows quickly to 24 to 36 inches tall, and the fragrant flowers attract butterflies. It sits low on the menu for deer. Fall color adds interest late in the season.

Pairs well with Susan magnolia, Standing Ovation little bluestem, Greig's tulip, and Hinoki cypress.
