Notes

'Red Fountain' dutchman's breeches (Dicentra 'Red Fountain') is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland settings, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist soil. It grows 6 to 12 inches tall and bears red flowers in mid to late spring and again in early to late summer. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Its low size suits the front of a border.

Pairs well with Red trillium, Western sword fern, and Yellow trout-lily.
