Notes

'Red Hill' scarlet sage (Salvia splendens 'Red Hill') is a perennial for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It forms a clump, grows fast, and shrugs off dry spells. It sits low on the menu for deer. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Blood flower, Hamari Gold dahlia, and Mammoth sunflower.
