Notes

'Red Panda' Chinese red birch (Betula utilis 'Red Panda') is a tree for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It grows about 30 to 50 feet tall and 30 to 33 feet wide, so give it room. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Acid, neutral, and alkaline soils all suit it.

Pairs well with Sibirica red-barked dogwood, Lenten rose, and Greater snowdrop.
