Notes

Riverbank grape (Vitis riparia) is a vine for pollinator gardens, food gardens, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It grows fast and can trail or climb 35 feet or more. Fragrant yellow-green flowers open in small, loose spikes, and bluish-black berries follow. Songbirds, gamebirds, waterfowl, and mammals relish the fruit.

Pairs well with White oak, Virginia rose, Indian grass, and Sensitive fern.
