Notes

Rocky mountain iris (Iris missouriensis) is a perennial for borders, meadows, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, loamy soil. Violet blue flowers are lightly fragrant and attract hummingbirds. Deer tend to browse other plants first. The clumps spread to form colonies, so divide them regularly.

Pairs well with Pickerel weed, Royal fern, and Foxtail barley.
