Notes

'Rosea Plena' soapwort (Saponaria officinalis 'Rosea Plena') is a perennial for pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, clay, or chalky soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It blooms from early to late summer and has a sweet scent. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Magnus coneflower, Lamb’s ear, and Adam's needle.
