Notes

'Rubrum' Chinese fringe-flower (Loropetalum chinense 'Rubrum') is a shrub for borders, specimen plantings, hedges, and foundation beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Pink to reddish-purple, fragrant flowers open in early to late spring. Deer rarely make it their first choice. The evergreen leaves stay on the arching branches all year.

Pairs well with Azalea, Mondo grass, June hosta, and Sasanqua camellia.
