Notes

Sasanqua camellia (Camellia sasanqua) is a shrub for borders, hedges, privacy screens, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast into an arching, evergreen shrub with fragrant white to pale pink flowers. Bees and birds visit it, and it also tolerates drought and salt. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Common holly, Blue-eyed grass, and Katsura tree.
