Notes

'Ruby Giant' coneflower (Echinacea purpurea 'Ruby Giant') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows 24 to 30 inches tall with ruby-pink petals around an orange-brown center cone. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the fragrant blooms. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Prairie Sun rudbeckia, Standing Ovation little bluestem, Butterfly milkweed, and Nodding onion.
