Notes

Sand dropseed (Sporobolus cryptandrus) is a grass for meadow gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry, sandy or loamy soil. It forms small clumps that grow 1 to 3 feet tall. The large, open seedheads have long, spreading branches. It establishes easily, so you can use it to control erosion on many kinds of sites.

Pairs well with Prairie junegrass, Whorled milkweed, and Lead plant.
